Al-Anon Reminiscences, Meetings, Service Opportunities & Smiles

Al-Anon in Jerusalem has been through some changes over the years. This writer remembers walking into her first meeting at the old building on Palmach Street 11 years ago, when we met on Sundays … and arrived via the old #15 bus line, which used to run from Har Nof through downtown Jerusalem to Old Katamon. Then the meeting changed to Wednesday evenings. There was also a meeting at Beit Miriam (beloved former home of many, many 12-step groups – if those walls could talk!) for a while.

And now, thank Higher Power, Al-Anons in Jerusalem have THREE meetings to choose from … or try them all!

May we all be blessed with the gift of recovery via the Al-Anon tools of meetings, anonymity, step work, service and conscious contact with a Higher Power as we understand that Higher Power.

Keep coming back to meetings. And if you can’t come to meetings just for the moment, keep in touch via email.

REMINDER: We are still waiting for YOU to submit YOUR personal story of your experience with Al-Anon, to post anonymously on this website. English or Hebrew – either is great! Even a paragraph of your experience, strength and hope can benefit others tremendously. Click here to submit.

About Al-Anon Jerusalem

The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery. Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions. Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
