First Al-Anon post of 2012! And I’m keeping up with my plan to post to the blog at least once a month …. even if this post is squeaking in within the last few hours of January.
Sticking to a plan without being too much of perfectionist about it is a hard task for many Al-Anons. We want to do it all right now …. or sink into lethargy and do nothing, ever.
But program is about finding balance. At a recent meeting I talked about “living in the gray (that area of life where things are not clearly black or white), with a few splashes of pink and green and yellow.”

Al-Anon taught me life is neither all black or all white, but may reveal unexpected flashes of color.
That is really my Al-Anon goal for 2012. What’s yours?

About Al-Anon Jerusalem
The Al-Anon Family Groups are a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope in order to solve their common problems. We believe alcoholism is a family illness and that changed attitudes can aid recovery.
Al-Anon is not allied with any sect, denomination, political entity, organization, or institution; does not engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any cause. There are no dues for membership. Al-Anon is self-supporting through its own voluntary contributions.
Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics. We do this by practicing the Twelve Steps, by welcoming and giving comfort to families of alcoholics, and by giving understanding and encouragement to the alcoholic.
